digital planar hologram (DPH)

The Nano-Optic Devices’ Digital Planar Hologram expands the potential of Integrated Optics and Photonic Lightwave Circuits (PLC's) by enabling customized complex optical systems on-chip.

The technology utilizes spatially controlled separation and combination of waves propagating in planar media, enabling arbitrary discrete spectral and spatial signal arrangement and distribution. It relies on the interference of 2-dimensional waves with computer generated diffractive structures in planar waveguides, combining the flexibility and control of holography with the manufacturability of modern thin film technologies.

Nano-Optic Devices is designing, fabricating and testing a suite of optical elements for a broad range of disruptive applications in communications, computing, processing and sensing.
